The Gospels relate the birth, life and redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ when He was here on earth. Letters of Paul
The Letters of Paul, also known as Pauline Epistles, correspond mostly to specific messages of Paul to the Churches that were founded in his missionary journeys and established in Asia, Greece and Rome.
They are distributed in fourteen letters, which are: Letter to the Romans, 1st and 2nd Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, 1st and 2nd Timothy, Titus, Philemon and Hebrews.
The messages found in these letters seek to solve a certain situation that the Church of that time was suffering, and they have the particularity that none of them narrate miracles, but they deal with doctrinal issues corresponding to the Christian Faith. Paul was the author of all these letters, and their content is part of the New Testament, and is the basis for many doctrines of the Church.

The word catholic means universal/general, therefore, the Catholic Epistles are also known as general epistles. They were written in the first 100 years of the Church, dating from the first century after Christ.
They are letters that were written by the Apostle John, the Apostle Peter, Jude and James. Of these four, only John and Peter were with Christ until the moment of his resurrection and ascension. James and Jude were blood brothers of Christ, but were not with Him in His ministry.
There are seven letters in total: The epistle of James, 1st and 2nd of Peter, 1st, 2nd and 3rd of John, and the epistle of Jude. They are considered general epistles because they are not destined to a specific Church, as Paul’s letters were, but they were of general diffusion in the scattered Church of those times.
