Our selection of books on medical specialties aims to be accessible to all and as complete as possible to meet the research needs of our community. On this occasion, we would like to present you our collection of books on traumatology in PDF format. Like many other medical specialties, traumatology has had a remarkable evolution in the last centuries and aims to create wellness in the human musculoskeletal system.

Already in ancient Greece, Hippocrates had published some important documents on this subject, such as the “Treatise on joints” and the “Treatise on fractures”, where he described techniques to alleviate bone and joint conditions. He spoke of splints to immobilize fractured limbs, traction techniques and reduction of dislocation. Then came the creation of the cast and many other advances that now include high technology. Find out more about this medical specialty with our books on traumatology.

Traumatology is the medical specialty concerned with the study, treatment, healing and prevention of trauma and injury to the body’s musculoskeletal system (bones, tendons, ligaments, muscles and other tissues). The specialty of traumatology is trauma (fractures, sprains, strains, tears, dislocations, ligament and tendon injuries), but it can also study aspects related to congenital or acquired deformities, usually in childhood.

Trauma may require non-invasive treatments, such as immobilization with casts, splints or bandages. However, they may also involve surgery or surgical interventions requiring the installation of screws and other materials. Physicians who work in this branch of medicine are called traumatologists and are surgeons.

There is a subspecialty called sports traumatology that deals with everything related to injuries and trauma in high-level athletes. We hope you enjoy every title in our collection of more than 15 traumatology books in PDF format available right now for download.
